I'm excited to officially launch two major additions to the OpenPBBG ecosystem: the Marketplace and Hosting platform. These services are built to help developers create, enhance, and launch their games more efficiently using the OpenPBBG engine.

OpenPBBG Marketplace

The Marketplace is a central hub for community-driven content and tools. Developers can now browse, share, and install a wide range of assets and modules, including:
  • Game plugins (crafting systems, PVP features, etc.)
  • Pre-built templates and map layouts

Whether you're looking to expand your game or contribute to the ecosystem, the Marketplace offers an easy way to access and distribute resources designed specifically for OpenPBBG.

OpenPBBG Hosting

We've also launched OpenPBBG Hosting โ€” a dedicated service to help you get your game online without the technical overhead. Features include:
  • Managed PHP/MySQL hosting optimized for browser-based games
  • Automatic updates and backups
  • Secure, scalable infrastructure for both hobby and commercial projects

If you want to focus on game development without worrying about server configuration, OpenPBBG Hosting is your solution.

Whatโ€™s Next: Finishing the Engine

With the Marketplace and Hosting now live, our focus will return to finalizing the core OpenPBBG game engine. This includes:
  • Completing the base feature set
  • Improving documentation and developer tools
  • Enhancing flexibility and modularity for custom games
  • Polishing user experience and admin workflows

These final steps will move OpenPBBG out of early development and into a stable, production-ready engine for building browser-based persistent games.

Explore the new services at OpenPBBG, and stay tuned for updates as we move closer to the official engine release.
